THE CLIENT

Dezan Shira & Associates is a business advisory firm assisting foreign companies doing business in Asia. They maintain over 20 offices across China, India, Singapore and Vietnam, and their website is available in 4 languages.

MooMu Media commenced work with Dezan Shira & Associates in early 2009. The aim of their search marketing campaign is to increase visits, and therefore contacts, from multinational companies doing business in Asia.

MOOMU MEDIA’S RECOMMENDED STRATEGY

In June 2008, only 5% of Dezan Shira’s search traffic was arriving on site through non-branded search terms. This meant that the vast majority of visitors to their site (95%) were already familiar with their brand. One of our aims was therefore to increase the number of visits to the site from non-branded search terms. That is, increase the firm’s exposure to brand new visitors.

The site structure and content was reviewed and updated, to ensure it was targetting their potential customers in the most effective manner. New content ideas were created and developed, to ensure the website was authoritative in the industry, showcasing their expertise and providing extra value to potential and existing customers.

An offsite linking campaign was undertaken, incorporating reputable sites including Government, university and research organisations, as well as industry specific websites.

RESULTS

In the three years MooMu Media has been working with Dezan Shira & Associates, non branded search traffic has increased 500%, conversions by over 20% and page 1 rankings have been achieved in the US, UK, China and Australia.

Dezan Shira & Associates maintain page 1 rankings for over 80% of their targeted keywords, which are updated annually to reflect changes in the market.

In December 2011, non-branded search was almost 25% of site traffic – 5 times higher than at the time of commencement.
